Caring For Baby Skin

One thing is certain is that the number of young babies who are developing illness or some kind of skin allergy is constantly increasing and this is something that can no longer be ignored.
So why are so many young children and babies getting some many illnesses? Well the answer to this is the range of chemicals that are found in everyday products are putting the health of your children at risk. One example is the high number of chemicals that are present in everyday baby skin care products and if you read the ingredients on the packaging you will soon realise that many of the products do contain potentially harmful chemicals.
The skin is the largest human organ and it does need to be cared for. There are instances where the skin is very sensitive as to what comes into contact with it and you need to seek what is appropriate for your skin, because this is the only defence that the internal workings of the body have from the outside world.
Some people say that skin care products are not absorbed by the skin but this is not true. If you think of a person who is trying to quite smoking, there are patches that are available that are designed to reduce the craving for nicotine. This clearly shows that the use of a patch applied to the skin is being absorbed into the body and so what we put on our skin is absorbed into the skin and will eventually enter the blood stream.
From head to toe, the skin is our body's largest organ and it is extremely sensitive to whatever it comes in contact with. We tend to think of our skin only as a barrier, our body's first line of defense. Yet it is to realize that our skin is also very "thirsty." Whatever touches the skin is absorbed to some degree directly into our body.
Think about how medicines are now commonly given through the use of a patch applied directly to the skin. This simple external exposure allows the medicine to be taken in and produce its affect on our entire body. This example dramatically illustrates that what we put on our body inevitably ends up in our body!
So what can be done to protect children from these chemicals and to avoid the body being exposed to a toxic overload? Well you need to make sure that you reading product labels and reading what is contained within the products that you are about to purchase.
If you are noticing that you are not even be able to read the ingredients label then this is a good sign that the ingredients are just cheap synthetic ingredients that are easy to reproduce in high volumes.
A lot of the ingredients that are used are also actually used in industry and excess use of such ingredients can lead to kidney and liver failure.
As a parent it is your responsibility to be proactive in deciding what is effective and is actually safe for use on your child and new born baby.
